The Yard don't only cater for the grown-ups but we also do the most fantastic and memorable parties for the kids too!

We have loads of experience in kids parties and understand that families budgets are being stretched thin at the moment. This is why we have taken our experience, great food, fun atmosphere and mixed them all together to create very reasonably priced parties.

As with all of our events they are completely tailor-made to the way you want them and most importantly to the price you want!

We aim to make this a birthday your child will remember for a very long time!

Here at The Yard we don't only provide the food and the fun atmosphere but we also help you find the best entertainment around!

We use Stina Sparkles one of Edinburgh and the Lothian's BEST children's entertainers. With years of experience Christina and Paul will provide you with a truly memorable event. From a Disco to Party Games (and prizes!) to Face Painting and Balloon Modelling there is something for every child and grown-up to enjoy!

The price is normally £150 but a 15% discount is added because they are that nice!

£130 for 2 entertainers for 2 hours!

Here you will find some ideas and packages that we have put together to help you. We truly believe that this is your day to make your own. We will be more than happy to use our extensive experience in wedding and events planning to make everything go to plan but after all no one knows how you want your day to go other than the most important people of the day you!We have a wonderfully intimate venue that offers not only a beautiful setting but most importantly a blank canvas to paint your dream wedding day on. Our wedding coordinator will be with you from the moment you walk through the door for the first time all the way through to introducing you both as the new Mr and Mrs. We dont work like most venues. There are no unchangeable packages and there are never limitations to what you can achieve in our space. We are yours for the moulding and we cant wait to make your dream day become a reality. Be it a traditional Scottish wedding to a themed extravaganza we will embrace your wishes and make every detail absolutely perfect.All of our staff come from very varied backgrounds in hospitality and because of this we have a vast amount of contacts within different sectors of the trade that we are more than happy to share with you and allow, not only us, but our friends to share in your big day. From photographers to bands, DJs to wedding stationary we are sure to know someone who will be able to help. Events

A beautiful 18th century stone built foundry building with slatted shutter windows giving the whole of our outdoors a very relaxed Mediterranean feel. Aged hedgerows completing the look which the courtyard offers. A blank canvass to paint the perfect setting! As you enter through the doors of the conservatory, into the relaxing reception lounge bar, youll notice it makes an ideal area for your guests awaiting the arrival of your party. The L shaped dining hall on the upper floor giving the venue a unique feeling. You can trust it will be set to your standards. On request, The Yard can also do most of your organising from, flowers, in house photographer, entertainment and much more. The Yard will also happily create themed parties for you on pretty much any theme you fancy, in fact whatever your dream The Yard is here to make it happen. Your guests are free to use all areas for their relaxation and enjoyment. In the warmer months, why not have an evening reception in the arrivals bar allowing your guests easier access to the courtyard for their enjoyment.Buffets can be served in this reception area, so if youre looking for a breather from the celebrations or just simply to catch up with old friends you can enjoy the comfy chairs the arrivals bar provides The Yard has a fully equipped room with staged area which makes the space an excellent space for an evening of entertainment be it band or disco.Why not consider having a BBQ and drinks reception in The Yards Courtyard. Spacious and enclosed the seclusion allows you and your guests to roam free and enjoy.The Yard offers you a complete day from beginning to end!The Yard can be exclusively yours for the day. This charming and unique 19th century former foundry building, with its enclosed courtyard and pleasant warm surroundings making this the perfect venue for a wonderful small to medium sized event.

Why?

After the unbelieveable success of The Yard's transformation into a fully operational and working theatre venue for the Leith Festival we have decided to extend this success with other amazing theatre and performace groups. The Yard's management have an extensive knowledge and experience of theatre and the technical aspects of making theatre possible and along with the enthusiasm and creativity of these groups it makes the space an amazing theatrical venue. Dubbed by our audiences as a hidden gem in the Leith Festival crown this year; The Yard is a naturally theatrical space and the layout of this historical building makes it a fantasic area for any sort of theatre. As a space it provides a lobby area for your audience to relax, large auditorium, technical booth and a raised stage. Although no competition with The Playhouse but we are a fantastic venue for small budget shows and performances that require imaginative, clever or just simple sets.
The space is generous and works so well in every aspect of theatre.Your audience have access to a full bar and restaurant downstairs before the theatre doors are open. When the doors open your audience go upstairs.Upstairs there is plenty room for a box office or ticket desk and your audience can order interval drinks in our upstairs bar area. This area is more than comfortable, with big leather couches and a cozy fireplace your guests will love it.When the auditorium opens you will find a space that will allow you up to 90 seats and a centre aisle. This auditorium is perfect especially for utilising the aisle as an extended performance space. The auditorium has great acoustics and means that you dont need to go to the expense of microphones for your performers.The most important part of any theatre is of course the stage. We are in no way saying that our stage will compete with The Playhouse but it will definately impress your audience with it's cool fringe-like look and cozy atmosphere! The stage is 7 meters in length and 4 meters in width; ample room to have a good amount of acting space and still leave you plenty room backstage.
